The Southern Trilogy features three historic homes: Bulloch Hall, Barrington Hall and Smith Plantation. I can’t believe it took me over thirty year of living in Roswell before exploring these museums! Don’t make that mistake. Of all the things to do in Roswell GA, the Southern Trilogy Of House Museums is one of my favorites. In my opinion, it’s easier to do on a local level when you’re first introducing them to history. It’s really never to early to introduce your kids to history. If you do not have a Roswell address, you can still sign up for a slightly higher fee. All of their programs seem VERY budget-friendly too. The best part? They have classes for adults as well, so you can participate either alongside your kids or while they are doing their own class. The programs are located at the different parks around the city, on both the East side and the West side. They have hundreds of class series and programs that are specifically designed for kids – from swim lessons to art. Sign your kids up for enriching classes and activities that they can participate in all year long. However, one of the best hidden gems is the fantastic Roswell Recreation & Parks programs. Vickery Creek Falls, Leita Thompson Park and The Chattahoochee River area are a few of my favorite scenic outdoor venues to relax with the family. The city of Roswell offers beautiful parks and outdoor areas. Symbolic and abstract pieces give the primarily blue and red wall rich meaning. No need to worry if you’ve got a youngster who likes to wiggle – they’ll still be welcomed at these Roswell Cultural Arts Center shows.īonus Activity: Check out the RosWall for your Instagram! It’s an intricate 125-footlong ceramic mosaic behind the Roswell Cultural Arts Center (created by artist Jeff Mather and local art students) – it took 11-years to complete. The Roswell Family Series offers educational and interactive performances, while the Roswell Puppet Series offers seasonal shows throughout the year. Smaller in size, the venue makes it easy to introduce kids to the theater. They offer several show series that are designed with kids in mind. It’s easy to miss the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, which is located just off of Canton Street (near City Hall), unless you know about it. The Atlanta area is sprawling with theater options, but very few actually cater to children.
